Project Status and other associated fields are key to understanding the PARS reporting process - which projects are assessed and which projects appear on reports, and when.
Note: There is an ongoing effort to transition from an old definition of project status to a new definition. "Old Status" is still present in some reports, while the PARS interface uses the New Status exclusively. You may see "Next_Status" as a field in some reports - this is a reference to the New Status field and is intended to support the transition to using the New Status moving forward. In the future, the Old Status field will be retired completely.
The purpose of this change was to reduce the number of possible options for the Status field, and reserve it for reporting the status of a project only - the old version was beginning to capture too many different pieces of information in a single field and becoming much harder to understand. The new approach of using several different fields to store the same information makes it much easier to understand.
The new fields are:
This document provides a detailed mapping from the old Status field to the new fields in our system. The mapping specifies the exact values of the new fields that correspond to each old status value.
